We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Resource Technician to join our IT team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone starting their career in IT, with a strong interest in data, hardware, and process improvement.
You'll work closely with the IT Resource Manager to manage and maintain our asset inventory, ensure devices are tracked and compliant using Microsoft Intune, and support data integrity across systems. The role also offers hands-on experience with IT hardware and structured development in tools like PowerShell and SQL—great foundations for progressing into IT operations, data, or support roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Log and maintain IT asset records accurately in the asset management database
- Prepare, label, and package IT equipment for deployment, return, and audit
- Arrange warranty repairs with Dell for laptops and ensure timely tracking
- Assist with the collection, testing, and inspection of returned equipment
- Ensure device records are accurate and up to date in Microsoft Intune
- Verify that devices are enrolled and appear compliant in Intune, escalating any issues as needed
- Reconcile physical inventory with digital records during monthly stock check
- Maintain a well-organized and clean IT storeroom, ensuring equipment is stored safely and logically
- Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory documentation is kept current
- Help standardize and improve internal asset data processes
- Shadow basic scripting and reporting tasks using PowerShell and SQL, with guidance and learning support
- Collaborate with the IT Resource Manager on documentation and data clean-up projects
Desirable Skills & Experience (training provided)
- Basic understanding of IT hardware (laptops, tablets, mobile devices, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and willing to learn data tools
- An interest in date and keen to learn PowerShell scripting and writing basic SQL queries
- Organized, reliable, and able to follow structured processes
- Clear communicator and effective team player
- Interest in device management and endpoint compliance
